JUNE 14: IT’S ANOTHER WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY
The theme for 2018 world blood donor day campaign is “Blood Donation is an action of solidarity” with the slogan“Be there for someone else. Give blood. Share Life”. The campaign emphasizes the need to raise wider awareness that blood donation is an altruistic action that benefits all society; and that an adequate supply can only be ensured through regular donations by voluntary non- remunerated blood donors.
SECONDARY SCHOOL BLOOD SAFETY CLUB (SSBSC) AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
World Blood Donor Day (WBDD), was established in 2004 to raise awareness on the need for safe blood and blood products, and to thank blood donors for their voluntary, life-saving gifts of blood. This is also one of eight official global public health campaigns recognized by World Health Organization (WHO).
APIN Public Health Initiatives in collaboration with the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), collaborated to bring the “Families Matter! programme (FMP) into Nigeria.
This week training of Facilitators to take on the programme in 2 different States of Nigeria began in Abuja.
