APIN Public Health Initiatives as the lead Implementing Partners in the State of Osun Nigeria through the Centre for Disease Control funded iCARES project has supported the state in the first year of its’ activity to offer free HIV Testing Services to 49983 people and has provided life-long anti-retroviral drugs (ARVS) to the 743 newly detected people. The organization also continues to support 4309 people currently accessing free ARVs with 83% of them achieving viral suppression.

Intellectual Impact:

Facility monitoring and evaluation officers and record staffs were trained on the HIV program indicators, monitoring and evaluation tools as well as reporting guidelines for the HIV/AIDS program.

Facility ART doctors, nurses and pharmacists were trained on the prevention, care and treatment of HIV as well as the management of PLHIV.

Facility staff were trained on the Prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV, management of positive pregnant women and their exposed infants.
