In Benue and Plateau States, we implement the Orphans and Vulnerable Children programme within our wider HIV/AIDS program. Through this program, we empower vulnerable individuals and households in different ways to help them become economically self-reliant. Women are at the heart of their work, especially because they bear a disproportionate burden of disease prevalence and the impact of diseases. For nearly two decades, we have worked closely with the relevant government agencies at the state, State Ministries of Health, existing structures at the community level, and Community-based organizations to empower women, households and communities.
