APIN AWARD/GALA NIGHT

On Friday 14th December 2018, APIN Public Health Initiatives hosted its staff members to a Gala and Awards Night to recognize, appreciate and celebrate staff who have put in more than ten years meritorious service in the organization for their selfless service to the poor and vulnerable people. The event was also meant to identify and honour staff who have shown exemplary acts of dedication and commitments that brought about valuable achievements in certain critical areas for the organization. The event which was full of glitz and glamour was held at the NAF Conference Center, Kado, Abuja. The Award Night could simply be described as Pure Celebration…A Night of Nights where the entire APIN’s family were celebrated for their hard work and dedication. The surrounding and ambience were breathtaking with amazing entertainment, food and fantastic drinks. Staff and invited dignitaries were all dressed in their best. The gala dinner says a lot about how APIN value the people within its family. The organizers of the event did not disappoint in any area starting with red carpet action and cocktail with well-adorned finery that involved staff and guests from all works of life. The gathering was graced with the presence of dignitaries from sister NGOs, partners, vendors and development agencies. Senior officers from Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Institute for Human Virology (IHVN), Center for Clinical Research in Nigeria (CCRN), Nigerian Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD) and the World Bank made the roll call at the event. The Chairman of Board of Trustees of APIN, Dr Oluwole Odutolu was also present. The Chief Executive Officer of APIN, Dr Prosper Okonkwo used the occasion to give special awards to some staff who have shown exemplary acts of dedication and going extra miles of commitments in the ordinary call of duty. He said that identifying and honouring these staff members will serve as an incentive and motivation and that will make others emulate the values celebrated in the Awardees. As the show draws to an end, it appears as if the organisers had made a conscious decision to keep a lasting memory in the minds of the audience with the performance from Sola Sax, a staff of APIN at the Lagos office who gave a great performance that brought together all of his great attributes and commanding presence for the admiration of all which got him a resounding ovation.
