APIN STRENGTHENS COLLABORATION TO IMPROVE HEALTHCARE IN ONDO

In line with its commitment to improve health and change lives, the APIN Public Health Initiatives has strengthened its collaboration with the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, Ondo state to improve the care of persons living with HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases. This was the main discussion when a team from APIN, led by the Head of Ondo regional office, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Medical Director and other stakeholders of the Federal Medical Centre on Thursday, December 20th, 2018. Speaking after the meeting, Femi Owolagba, the head of the APIN Ondo regional office, expressed optimism that the robust discussions and strategies deliberated upon will reposition the hospital in the fight against the HIV/AIDS scourge. Owolagba commended the leadership of the hospital for its commitment to quality healthcare and multidisciplinary approach to solving challenges. He explained that the impacts of this collaboration will be felt by staff and patients from January 2019, with improved quality of care and retention of patients. APIN Public Health Initiatives is a leading non-governmental organisation providing cutting edge public health solutions, including comprehensive HIV/AIDS care. It is presently the sole implementing partner of the USG PEPFAR in Ondo state, supporting and strengthening over 30 health facilities in the state, including the Federal Medical Centre Owo.
