World Menstrual Hygiene Management Day: APIN Partners with CLHEI To Bring Awareness to Adolescent Girls At DENSSA Model College, Benue State.

In commemoration of the World Menstrual Hygiene Management Day, APIN partnered with Community Links and Human Empowerment Initiative (CLHEI) to bring awareness to adolescent girls at DENSSA Model College Ushongo, Benue State about the importance of menstrual hygiene management.

Over 37 million women and girls in Nigeria do not have access to clean water, appropriate and affordable menstrual materials or the right menstrual hygiene information and we helped to address these challenges by providing quality menstrual products such as sanitary pads, and by educating school children and women on hygienic and safe menstrual hygiene practices.

The participants were sensitized on, good menstrual health and hygiene, important hygiene practices during menstruation, consequences of non-usage of sanitary pads and lastly we did a full-on demonstration on the proper use and disposal of sanitary pads. Participants were given sanitary pads, medicated and antiseptic soaps and toilet rolls.

With support from our CBOs and other partners, APIN is committed to creating a world where no woman or girl is held back because she menstruates.
