APIN Partners With NASCP To Host Quarterly National DSD-SI Subcommittee Meeting.

After nearly 3 years of implementation, the Differentiated Service delivery Strategic Initiative (DSD-SI) has come to an end.

APIN received funding form The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria and to improve testing and treatment for key populations like men, adolescents, and children in Anambra and Taraba states.

APIN Public Health Initiatives provided technical assistance to the Nigerian government through NASCP to enhance testing and treatment coverage for these priority populations. The aim is to deploy policies, strategies, and innovations to enhance efficiency and quality of services, ultimately reducing deaths, new infections, and community transmission of HIV.

This initiative also sought to address gaps in testing and treatment for the key populations through scale-up of DSD models, innovations and adaptations in HIV testing and treatment and also strengthening the evidence-based implementation and standardization around service delivery approaches.

Key achievements during the years of implementation includes: Conducting a Formative Assessment which helped to showcase DSD progress made in Nigeria since, identifying specific areas that need improvement, Developing and piloting a process flow and tracking process map for intra-facility and inter-facility linkages of PMTCT and EID services in Taraba and Anambra State, reviewing HIV Testing Services (HTS) Training Curriculum amongst others.
