The theme for the 2021 World AIDS Day, “End Inequalities. End AIDS. End Pandemics” drew attention to HIV/AIDS as both a pandemic and evidence of inequalities in access to health services. The theme also focused on the double pandemics currently being tackled by global health systems: HIV/AIDS and COVID-19. To commemorate the day and raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, APIN staff in Abuja took to Gudu Market to sensitize traders and buyers at the location. The event covered myths about HIV/AIDS, proper use of condoms, prevention, care, and treatment of HIV/AIDS.
