APIN Commemorates The 2024 World Blood Donor Day Across Project States

2024 World Blood Donor Day may be over but the need for safe, readily-available blood and blood products can not be over-emphasized.

APIN supported the National Blood Service Commission – NBSC and its state-level arms to sensitize the people of all age groups on the importance of voluntary blood donation as a way to keep our blood banks stocked with safe, screened blood. On the flip side, we engaged with health care workers to emphasize the importance of adhering to global and national guidelines for ensuring the safety of the donor, recipient and blood products during blood donation and blood transfusions. This is especially important to us as HIV can be transmitted through contact with unscreened or poorly screened blood.

Here are some more pictures of all our activities marking this year’s World Blood Donor Day and 20 years of celebrating voluntary blood donors who give blood to save lives.
