APIN Wins Two Awards at the CDC Biannual Program Performance Review meeting/2022 End of Project Cycle!

Today at the CDC Biannual Program Performance Review meeting / 2022 End of Project Cycle, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Nigeria presented awards to all implementing partners including APIN for Public Health Excellence. APIN was the only IP to receive two awards!!

In addition to the award for Public Health Excellence which all the other IP’s received, APIN received a Special Services Award for our support to NASCP during the launch of the National Clinical Mentors Programme (NCMP).

The two-day meeting brings together stakeholders and implementing partners from all 19 PEPFAR-supported states to discuss and review the progress that the HIV program in Nigeria has recorded, particularly with support from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) / the U.S President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).

We deeply appreciate the U.S Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador Mary Beth Leonard, the National Coordinator of the National AIDS, STIs and Viral Hepatitis Control Programme (NASCP), Dr Akudo Ikpeazu and the CDC Nigeria Country Director, Dr Mary Boyd who presented the award to our CEO, Dr Prosper Okonkwo.
