PROFESSOR IBIRONKE AKINSETE
Professor Akinsete, a renowned Professor of Haematology, retired from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos and served as the pioneer Chairman of the National Action Committee on AIDS from 2000 to 2005. She is a Member/Fellow of several national and international societies, including The Nigerian Medical Association, the British Medical Association, the International Society for Haematology and Blood Transfusion, and the National Expert Committee on AIDS. She was also the Founder/President of the Society for Women & AIDS in Africa, Nigeria Chapter.
